Samantha Garcia is an Executive Recruiter in our Office Support, Human Resources, and Marketing division. How long have you been working at Abacus Group?

I just celebrated my 3-year anniversary with Abacus Group last month.

What made you interested in recruiting for Office Support, HR, and Marketing professionals?

My journey into recruitment was purely inspired by the incredible recruiters at Abacus Group. I have a background in Marketing and began working for Abacus Group handling the firm’s marketing and communications. After some time in that role and being immersed in the industry, I realized that I wanted to try my hand at recruitment, and given my background, the Office Support, HR, and Marketing division interested me the most. Since joining the team, I have not looked back!

What do you like best about working at Abacus?

I like that Abacus Group has a longstanding reputation of excellence. My colleagues and mentors are industry leaders. Every day I push myself further, learn something new, and am supported by the best in the business.

Abacus Group stands out because of our approach to recruiting offers clients and candidates the reputation and force of a large agency, with the flair and personality of a boutique and familial operation.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Motivated, resourceful, and organized.

If you could have any other job, what would it be?

I cannot imagine doing anything else. My dream as a child was to be on Broadway so maybe in an alternate reality…

What advice would you give to someone about being a successful recruiter for Office Support, HR, and Marketing professionals?

Network! I believe this goes for all recruiting and career development in general. Networking and making connections will allow you to meet incredible candidates as well as professionals with hiring needs with which you can assist. Always have your ear to the ground!
