How long have you been working at Abacus Group?

I have been working with Abacus for just over a year!

What made you interested in recruiting for Accounting and Finance professionals?

While in college, I interned at various companies within their HR and Sales departments, but nothing seemed like quite the right fit. I was later introduced to the recruiting industry and found Abacus Group through my school’s career fair. While I did not have a background in the Accounting or Finance space, Abacus Group took me in and taught me the ropes. I am surrounded by industry experts, all of whom have strong backgrounds in the field. The energy and expertise within the Accounting and Finance team are ultimately what got me on board!

What do you like best about working at Abacus Group?

The support you receive from your team members. I hear a lot of horror stories about other recruitment firms that pit people against others and create a very competitive culture. Abacus is a collaborative, team environment where everyone wants to see you succeed.

What makes Abacus Group stand out among the rest?

The talent here! Every day I get to work side by side with the best recruiters in the industry. They all come from accomplished backgrounds and work hard to ensure the younger recruiters know what they are doing.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Empathetic, hardworking, and trustworthy.

If you could have any other job, what would it be?

My only prerequisite would be that I get to work with people daily, which is why I enjoy recruiting so much. I have always loved history and art, so maybe a museum curator?

What advice would you give to Accounting and Finance professionals who are currently job searching?

Do not lose hope! It is a crazy time for everyone right now and we are all learning how to navigate this new reality. I see new jobs opening day by day and companies are restarting their talent searches. The Accounting and Finance industry never sleeps so sit tight and focus on researching, networking, and editing your resume now so you will be able to hit the ground running once things are back to full speed.
